How long have you been modelling? Where did you get a good break?
I’ve been modelling for about six years now. Travelling to America is what really kick-started my career, and I’ve now been featured in over 15 covers internationally .
When and where did you get your first tattoo? Do you still have it or is it covered up?
My first tattoo was just some stars on my foot, and they’re still there but super faded. After my first tattoo I was addicted! Is there a story behind your nickname ‘The Pink Pirate’?
‘Pink Pirate’ came to me as I have been a childcare teacher for 14 years now, and I used to dress up like a pink pirate. The nickname stuck, but I do prefer my real name.
Have your tattoos ever affected your ability to get a job or caused a problem with an employer?
Yes, being a childcare teacher I had to cover all my tattoos for many years. One day I said, “enough is enough” and expressed my side of the matter to the company. They changed their policy so now I can be myself at work.
You are on the road a lot, can you tell us how those trips come together?
Lots and lots of planning and organising months before I leave. I have never had an agent or manager so it’s been a lot of hard work on my side to get to where I am. I left my comfort zone here in Australia to travel and work with some of the world’s best artists.
What are your favorite places that you have travelled to?
Vancouver is definitely one of my favourites. I’d love to move there. I always enjoy the USA as well.
What are some things about Australia that make you excited to get home when you travel? Vegemite! I eat it every day, but sometimes I forget to travel with it. Also the warm weather here in sunny Queensland.
What are some of the brands that you work with?
I have many sponsors now, and I’m so grateful. Iron Fist Clothing, Sullen Clothing, TUK Shoes, Arctic Fox Hair Colour, and Pegi Lea Hair Extensions, to name a few.
What does the future have in store for you?
